Our Wisconsin Vacation

I usually write in a journal that I have altered just for our vacations. I haven't had the time to sit down and write in it the way I'd like so I figured that I would write on my blog what we've been doing while in WI for Thanksgiving.

We left NC bright and early Monday the 19th. And I mean early!! I've written in my journal about what we during the trip up here so I won't write it here. I'll try to write all the stuff I can remember!

We got to John and Gina's house on Tuesday evening. We had a hard time remembering that it gets dark so early in the day. By 5:00 p.m. it is completely dark. We were at J&G's house by dark. We ended up stopping at the Walmart Supercenter to pick up the Thanksgiving dinner and all the trimmings on our way here. We ended up having frozen pizza for supper that night.

It was good that we got here Tuesday because we woke up Wed. morning and it was snowing. We ended up with about 4-5 inches. (Kevin thinks it was less.) We had a blast playing with the dogs out in it. I got a lot of pictures. After putting the dogs in the garage we rode down to the small village of Cornucopia. Gina was at her quilting group. I went to the P.O. and Elher's General store. Nothing had changed since we were here in August except, of course, the snow. LOL!!! We then rode down Meyers Road to the beach area. We took lots more pictures of Lake Superior and each other. It was freezing down on the beach. I still yet to have to go to Corny beach but I will soon. Hopefully tomorrow. ;) After the stop at the beach we went down Happy Hollow Rd. and John and Kevin just had to go down the Berringer Dump Road in search of *Lake in the Clouds* a lake that John had been told about. It was a snowy road and I was white-knuckling it most of the way. Well, we found the lake and I got some more pictures. (I've been taking a lot more pictures this trip than in August. Better ones actually.) We went back to the village and met Gina at the Village Inn for lunch. I got some cool pictures of the old (and some young) men at the bar all wearing orange. It was hunting season this week and all the old (and some young) men were wearing some sort of orange all over town.

Well, that's it for tonight. It's getting late and I'm heading off to bed. I'll write more tomorrow.
G'night.
